1998
Madrasah Al-Hikmah was established in 1998 in Subang Jaya. It began with just 3 students, and today, it has grown to approximately 250 students from both local and international backgrounds. Initially, the institution operated as a combined Surau and Madrasah, situated in the residential SS18 area of Subang Jaya, where both male and female students studied together.
2012
In November 2012, the girls' section was moved to a newly built madrasah in Giching, located on the outskirts of Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, Sepang.
2016
In April 2016, the boys' section was relocated to another newly constructed madrasah in Kuala Kelawang, Negeri Sembilan.
The boys' madrasah is led by Maulana Umair, who received his Ijaazat from Darul Ulum Arabia in Cape Town, South Africa.
The girls' section is managed by Ustaz Abdul Kadir, a graduate of the International Islamic University, Malaysia. Many of the teachers (mualim and mualimah) completed their studies at various Darul Ulum and madrasah institutions in South Africa, including Zakariyya Park, Cape Town, and Azaadville.
Around 60% of the students are from Malaysia, with the remainder coming from countries like Finland, China, the Philippines, Singapore, Pakistan, Australia, South Africa, and Thailand.
The primary languages of instruction are Arabic and English. The English-based curriculum at Madrasah Al-Hikmah provides an opportunity for international students to pursue Islamic education in Malaysia.
