THE 'AALIMIYAH COURSE

‘Aalimiyah course is studied over a span of five years, in which students make graded progress through the Traditional Islamic Sciences of Fiqh (Islamic legal system), ‘Aqaaid (Islamic belief system), Tafseer (translation and exegesis of the Holy Quran), and Ahadith (teachings of the Prophet SAW).

Subsidiary subjects include Arabic Language, Classical Arabic literature, Seerah, Tajweed
(Quranic pronunciation), memorization of Quran, Uloomul-Qur’an, Usoolul-Fiqh and Usoolul Ahadith.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

“And the believers should not all go out to fight. Of every troop of them, a party only should go forth, that they (who are left behind) may gain sound knowledge in religion, and that they may warn their folk when they return to them, so that they may beware”.

(At-Tawbah 122)

The aim of the course is to produce individuals who live in the manner most pleasing to Allah and His Rasul (sallallahu alaih wasallam) by being aware of the teachings of Islam, sincerely acting upon it and promoting it to others.

For this, the Madrasah will endeavour to enable its students to fulfil the following objectives:

  1. To be acquainted with the meaning of the entire Quran and its related disciplines.
  2. To appreciate and honour the efforts of Rasulullah s.a.w., his companions and Muslim scholars.
  3. To understand all chapters of Fiqh and Aqidah (Jurisprudence and Belief).
  4. To be aware of the methodology in Islamic narration, jurisprudence and belief.
  5. To be able to refer to the original authoritative sources.
  6. To be equipped with characters (Akhlaq) needed to please Allah and to serve the Muslim community. 

 

COURSE DETAILS

Duration of studies

  • The complete program is an intensive 6 years course.
  • The academic session is annual. (Syawal till Ramadhaan)
  • Classes are from Monday until Saturday.

 

Breakdown of an annual session

  • One annual session comprises of 42 school weeks.
  • 36 Studying Weeks +  6 Examination Weeks.

 

Medium of instruction

  • English is the medium of instruction to facilitate both local and international students simultaneously.
  • Textbooks are more than 90% Arabic.

 

Course structure

  • The course is of two parts; academic and practical.
  • Academic activities are conducted in classes.
  • Practical activities include life management skills and programmes for building student's general conduct.

 

Academic Curriculum

  • No core and electives in academic activities; all subjects are compulsory.
  • Passing the final exam is required to be promoted to the next level.
  • The passing marks are 60% for every subject.
